He meets Link at the Deku Shrine found to the right of the Palace after exiting it. Once he and Link reach the end of the labyrinth, he gives Link the reward which is the Mask of Scents. It is thought that at some point in time he left the Deku Palace and came into contact with the Skull Kid some time after he left. The Skull Kid killed him (for what reason is unknown) which left the remains of his body as a twisted tree.
