Joanne is the sister of Jolene from Phantom Hourglass who dresses up like a mermaid. She can be first seen in the waters surrounding Bannan Island. She only talks to you if you defeat all enemies in the area. Joanne acts and dresses as if she's a mermaid for the Old Wayfarer. Joanne also believes that her sister, Jolene, is only pretending to be a pirate. She's a part of a mermaid side quest, which leads to Link receiving the Fishing Rod. At one point in the game, Link gets accidentally a letter from Jolene to Joanne. If Link delivers it to Joanne, he will get a Wisdom Gem from her.
