This page will help in citing sources and adding references to articles.
When to Cite Sources
Until a more formal guide is created, here's a quick list of details that can be found in articles that should be cited:
- Direct quotes from game text or other primary textual resources
- Facts that are not common knowledge and can be traced back to one or a few source(s)
- Statistics (e.g. game ratings)
This list is not complete.
Where to Find Sources
Whenever possible, it's best to use information that's stored on zeldadungeon.net. Specifically, the Resources section of the website contains many different types of sources. If it can't be found on ZeldaDungeon, use an alternative source and notify Locke to look into the possibility of adding it to the site.
Game Text
In the future, we may work out a better way of sourcing specific quotes, but for now, use the text dumps or scripts on the textual resources page.
Game Manuals
Game manuals can also be found on the resources page.
Interviews
If the interview is on the wiki (Category: Interviews), use an internal link. If it's not there, add it, or cite the original source and notify User Talk: Locke with the interview and the page you used it on.
