Death Mountain is a huge mountain range found in northern Hyrule. This huge mountain range spans the entire width of the map, touching both the eastern and western edges of [[Hyrule]]. On the top of Death Mountain there is [[Spectacle Rock]], which hides the entrance to Ganon's Lair, [[Level 9: Death Mountain]]. [[Level 6: The Dragon]] is also located on Death Mountain. Death Mountain is inhabited by [[Tektite]]s, [[Lynel]]s, and [[Boulder]]s. There is a reservoir in the eastern area from which a river flows down a waterfall, eventually draining into [[Lake Hylia]].

In ''[[Zelda II: The Adventure of Link|The Adventure of Link]]'', Death Mountain is found in the south-east of [[Western Hyrule]], south of the [[Water Town of Saria]] only after showing [[Bagu]]'s note to the [[River Man]]. While not a dungeon in its own right, the horde of [[Daira]], [[Octorok]]s, [[Bago-Bago]] and a complex labyrinth of caves make it as challenging as any of the Palaces. Link's reward for battling his way to the southern end of the area is the [[Hammer]]. If Link breaks the boulder next to the cave where the hammer is discovered and walks into that space, he also finds a [[Magic Container]] hidden in a cave. Close inspection of the far south of the region reveals a scaled-down version of the [[Overworld]] from the ''[[The Legend of Zelda]]''.
