To find this chest more easily among all the others, you can feed the dog outside, however feeding the dog is not necessary to find the chest.

You have to~~ feed ~~four pieces of meat and/or fruit to~~ the ~~nearby~~ dog, ~~before he will lead you through~~ the ~~cave~~ to the chest.
