After Link successfully wins the race, Zelda leaps off of the ledge from Skyloft, dropping down onto Link's bird to congratulate him. Things eventually take a turn for the worse when Link and Zelda are flying about. A huge tornado is summoned causing Zelda to fall off her bird and get sucked to the land beneath the clouds. As she falls to the ground, she appears to be swallowed by a giant monster. Ghirahim claims that a servant of the Goddess rescued her from the tornado and she was taken to the Forest Temple.
