Magic Oar: Difference between revisions

The '''Magic Oar''' is the tenth item of the [[Oracle of Ages Trading Sequence|trading sequence]] in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages|Oracle of Ages]]''. It was the first oar created by [[Maple]],{{Ref|name=oar-receive|OoA|355|Maple}} and is one of the best oars out there, being called a "racer's dream".{{Ref|OoA|99|In-Game Description}}{{Ref|OoA|405|Quest Status Screen Description}}

The Magic Oar can be obtained from [[Maple]], the Great Witch Syrup's apprentice.{{Ref|OoA|348|Maple}} Maple will appear at a limited number of locations in [[Labrynna]], only after [[Link]] has defeated thirty enemies (fifteen with [[Maple's Ring]]). If Link bumps into her without the [[Touching Book]] in hand, she yells at Link for doing so, and expresses worriment over her missing picture book.{{Ref|OoA|339|Maple}} If Link bumps into her while he has the Touching Book in hand, she immediately notices it,{{Ref|OoA|351|Maple}} and very quickly identifies it as the Touching Book she was supposed to take to Syrup.{{Ref|name=take|OoA|352|Maple}} After hastly asking Link why he has it, she asks to read it.{{Ref|name=take}} While reading, Maple lets out random sobs and tears.{{Ref|OoA|353-354|Maple}} After thanking Link, she gives him the Magic Oar, saying it's the first one she ever made, but she never gets any compliments for it from Syrup.{{Ref|name=oar-receive}}

The Magic Oar can used to acquire the eleventh item in the trading sequence, the [[Sea Ukulele]]. The Magic Oar can be traded to [[Rafton]], who can be found in his [[Rafton's House|house]] along the [[South Shore]]. Rafton greatly enjoys rafting, and is thinking of entering a raft race.{{Ref|name=rafton|OoA|1206|Rafton}} However, he has been unable to find to find a decent oar to use.{{Ref|name=rafton}} Link can give him the Magic Oar,{{Ref|OoA|1207|In-Game Description}} which Rafton likes.{{Ref|name=receive|OoA|1208|Rafton}} As thanks, Rafton gives Link the Sea Ukulele, saying that "lazily playing guitar while gazing at the moon is so nice."{{Ref|name=receive}}
