A '''Mau''', also known as a '''Wolf Head''', is an enemy that appears exclusively in ''[[Zelda II: The Adventure of Link|The Adventure of Link]]''.

Maus are animated wolf-headed statues that decorate the walls of the [[Island Palace]], [[Maze Island Palace]], [[Ocean Palace]] and [[Hidden Palace]]. They move slowly up and down in patterns through the air while shooting beams at [[Link]]. These beams only cause half of damage, same like the contact with the head itself. Link also loses experience points upon contact with a Mau.

Maus are considerably weaker than [[Ra]] and are easily destroyed. They frequently appear in large swarms, and the battles are fairly difficult. Link can use his [[Thunder Spell]] to quickly eliminate all of them. Link gains 5 experience points for defeating a Mau.
