One day, she escaped from the creatures and fire of the abysmal [[Hyrulean Civil War]] to the [[Kokiri Forest|Forbidden Forest]]. She was gravely injured, and entrusted her baby boy to the guardian of the forest, the [[Great Deku Tree]], before she passed away. The Great Deku Tree sensed that [[Link]] was a child of great destiny, and was raised as a [[Kokiri]].
