A sleeping [[Link]] is awakened by a telepathic message from a girl who identifies herself to be Zelda. Finding his Uncle preparing to leave the house, he tells the young protagonist to not leave the house. Ignoring his Uncle's command, Link ventures out of his house. Guided by the girl's telepathic messages, Link finds himself at Hyrule Castle. Opening a secret passageway on the side of the castle, Link finds his Uncle, defeated. He gives Link his sword and shield and teaches him about a move that has been passed down for generations - the [[Spin Attack]]. Traveling through Hyrule Castle, Link finally makes it into the dungeon, finding Zelda, who is imprisoned. The two move through the sewers, finally reaching the Sanctuary. The man there promises Link that he will keep Zelda safe, and tells Link about the evil wizard, Agahnim and his plans to use the seven maidens to gain entrance into the Golden Land. He also informs Link about the Master Sword - the sword of Evil's Bane. Unsure of how to find it, he suggests that Link should find the elder, [[Sahasrahla]]. Finding him, he tells Link to find the three pendants to prove he is worthy of wielding the Master Sword.
