Joel is a character that has appeared in two games in The Legend of Zelda series to date.

The Wind Waker

Joel is Zill's older brother and Abe and Rose's son. He lives on Outset Island in The Wind Waker. His favorite thing to do is jump, and is amazed at Link's jumping abilities. He wants to grow up as fast as he can so he can be big enough to jump across big boulders. In the beginning of the game, he points the stick that he is holding across a few rocks in the small bit of ocean between the two little islands on Outset. He tells Link that he wants to jump across the rocks to get to the Rupees on the other side. If Link jumps across and get the Rupees, Joel will tell Link what a great jumper he is and gaze at him admirably. If Link brought Rose more than one pig in the beginning of the game, later when there is only one pig Joel and Zill admit to Link that their family ate them, but Rose denies it and quickly silences the boys.

The Minish Cap

In The Minish Cap, Joel is a student at Funday School inside of Hyrule Town. Link is first able to meet Joel after completing the Temple of Droplets, in which Link can then enter Funday School. Joel enjoys to run around the small track, but has a problem in that whenever he does run, whatever he is eating tends to fall out of his mouth.[1]
