The Zelda series boasts more than its fair share of otherworldly and downright fascinating tribes. Similarly to some of the franchise’s most memorable characters, though, many of them serve as one-offs. That isn’t to say that said races receive the bare minimum of characterization. Nintendo definitely scatters tidbits of intrigue regarding these races throughout their respective games — enough for theorists, fan-fiction authors, and roleplayers to work with, at any rate. Admittedly, there’s something to be said about leaving details…

Every 100 years, a male is born into the Gerudo race. That male is destined to become the leader of the Gerudo. We all know the legend. But in the meantime the Gerudo choose a leader who they feel is worthy. And in the era of the Hero of Time, that leader is Nabooru. Of all the thieves, she is the most cunning, the most stealthy. She embodies everything that the Gerudo believe in, and exemplifies the qualities of a…

Welcome back to ZD Gallery where every other week we feature an artist and their works of art that pay homage to our beloved Zelda series. This week, we are pleased to introduce Streaac, an active Zelda fan who’s been creating pieces for the franchise for the past year or so, including prints and even a couple comics that are still in the works. Go ahead and make the jump to see more of Streaac’s work and catch our interview…

YES!!! It’s time to take a look at Nabooru! I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while now, partly because her presentation as a character is the same as those of past Sages, but done differently, which I really liked, but also because of her promise, which I’m really looking forward to hearing your theories, because there are infinite possibilities, some realistic, others being completely off the wall. With that said, I can’t see any reason why we…

Having recently completed the original quest in The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, I got to thinking about Link and his many prospective girlfriends in that game. Link really is a lady’s man in this game and ends up somewhat betrothed to two girls (Ruto and Malon). He has one wishing she would have taken a chance with him when she had it (Nabooru). Link also fights for the attention of one girl (Saria) against a possible nemesis…

General Description: The Gerudo are a race of women that have been known to live in the desert portion of Hyrule. The Gerudo appear as tall, lean and muscular women with red hair who are traditionally portrayed as thieves.  In Ocarina of Time, they have an apparent ranking system: among them are guards, fighters, and a leader. In Majora’s Mask, a different tribe of Gerudo are portrayed with a similar ranking system.  Commonly, the Gerudo women go to Hyrule Castle…

Nintendo is always very creative when it comes to Zelda races. We all know Nintendo doesn’t need to use biology facts to explain their creations, but still it is fun to figure out if a Zelda race could be possible in the real world. I already tried to explain the Gorons and the Zoras, but if there is one aspect about the Zelda series that can make a biologist go insane, it definitely has to be the Gerudo. The Gerudo…
