Zelda fan and talented musician Aaron Grubb is set to release a new album of Zelda music covers. The album becomes available April 12th for streaming and purchase. A resident of the Pacific Northwest, the location of Nintendo of America’s headquarters, Grubb has been a lifelong fan of the iconic franchise, and has put together some impressive music covers, which Zelda Dungeon has previously covered here.

The upcoming album, Legend of Zelda Collection Vol. 2, will feature the following songs, some of which are already available for streaming, others of which will be available for the first time:

  1. “Title Theme (From Ocarina of Time)”
  2. “Dragon Roost Island (From Wind Waker)”
  3. “Lon Lon Ranch ft. Eivlya (From Ocarina of Time)”
  4. “Ilia’s Theme (From Twilight Princess)”
  5. “Skyloft (From Skyward Sword)”
  6. “Gate of Time (From Skyward Sword)”
  7. “Queen Rutela’s Theme (From Twilight Princess)”
  8. “Market Lullaby (From Ocarina of Time)”
  9. “Stables (From Breath of the Wild)”
  10. “Peace Returns (From Minish Cap)”
  11. “Last Day (From Majora’s Mask)”
  12. “Game Over (From The Legend of Zelda)”

Grubb has a talent for experimentation and altering the classic melodies to bring the soul of the music to life. By changing key or adding collaborative vocals, Grubb is able to capture the magic of experiencing afresh the greatest tracks in the Zelda franchise. Some of my personal favorites are “Peace Returns (From Minish Cap)” and”Lon Lon Ranch ft. Eivlya”. But the track that just stopped me in place and had me listening for hours is “Last Day – Majora’s Mask”. Aaron Grubb captures the haunting beauty of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask in this track, and it is among my favorite covers to date. Long-time fans of the series will love Grubb’s new album and should definitely check it out on release day.
