If you were to step into my house you’d see a variety of decorative items, photos, books, and memorabilia from my husband’s and my favorite series. We both love The Legend of Zelda and over the years we’ve collected games, books,  amiibo figures, and other odds and ends  from the series. So, what is your favorite item in your Zelda collection? When I started to write about this Daily Debate I was going to say my Zelda manga collection, but…

On April 29th, Zelda movie director Wes Ball hosted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit to promote his new film, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Primates weren’t all that Redditors were talking about though, as Ball’s next project is the Legend of Zelda movie, which was announced in November 2023. While the director was understandably limited in what he would or could say about the Zelda movie, there is some information to be gleaned from his comments….

Japanese toy company Hanayama is famous for its cast disassembly puzzles, known as “Huzzles.” Last year, the company expanded its range with three Huzzles based on The Legend of Zelda. The set consists of the Triforce, the Hyrule Crest, and the Master Sword. The challenge of each is to figure out how to take the puzzle apart, and then reassemble it to its former glory. Each Huzzle has a MENSA difficulty rating, ranging from “Level 1 – Fun” to “Level 6…

How’s it going, Zelda fans?! Zelda Dungeon’s Caption Contest is back again to tickle your funny bone. Last week, I promised that we’d be highlighting some funny Ultrahand creations for the next several contests. Well, you can consider me a man of my word, because we’ve taken “Utrahand” to a whole new level with this week’s contest image.

I’ve been playing through Majora’s Mask a bunch lately, and trying to ask myself questions about a game that has already been well-discussed, even to the frustration of some. I recently came across a Reddit post that asked a relevant question I had never thought much of before: What are the Snappers saying? If you’ve never played Majora’s Mask, Snappers are the turtles that exist as enemies in several different locations throughout Termina (the world in which the game is set)….

Games Done Quick (GDQ), which speedruns games in marathon format for charity, has released its list of games to be featured in the upcoming Summer Games Done Quick 2024 (SGDQ) week-long event. This includes three Zelda titles: A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess. The marathon will take place from June 30th through July 6th in Minneapolis, and it will be streamed live on Twitch. GDQ states on its website that it has raised over $45…

Al’s away and Andy’s taking a spa day this week, so we have a first for our show: we’re unlocking the very first episode of the Zelda Cast Top Tens that we ever did! For our debut episode, the one and only Alasyn Eletha joins the show for a double header Top Ten list: The moment emotional moments in the Zelda series, and the cheeky-but-fun Top Ten Ugliest Twilight Princess characters (paying off a running joke that’s been running hard…

The Zelda series has some stunning maps. Even the 2D games have iconic ones, especially when you think about their versatility (consider A Link to the Past and its Dark World), and how they manifest in remakes (consider Link’s Awakening DX versus its 2019 version). So, Scatterbrained Creations undertook a massive project to recreate a 3D diorama of Hyrule’s intricate map from Breath of the Wild. After drawing the map and cutting out some foamboard, work could begin. Stacking spare…

In the Legend of Zelda series, a handful of towns make appearances in multiple games, with each version having its own unique aesthetic and charm. Hyrule Castle is a commonly occurring location in Zelda, but the adjacent Castle Town doesn’t always appear with it. When it does, it is often a market square for buying goods, a hub connecting multiple key regions, and/or filled with non-playable characters (NPCs) for mini-games, side quests, or informants advancing the game’s narrative. In my…
