Octogon

Octogon is the boss of the sixth dungeon in Oracle of Ages, Mermaid's Cave. He is a giant octopus that swims in the water. He will attack you above water by shooting rocks at you, and below water he will either trap you in a bubble to make you vulnerable to attack or he will run into you. There are two strategies to fight this boss: using your sword or the Seed Shooter equipped with scent seeds. If you choose to use the sword, you can simply slash at him when he is on the surface and while he is under water. Keep in mind that if you are using the sword you will be very vulnerable to his bubble attack. If you opt for using scent seeds, shoot at him while he is above the surface, and when he is below the water dive after him and when he is directly behind you, shoot seeds at the wall in front of you so they bounce back and hit him. No matter what strategy you choose, be aware that you can only damage him by hitting him in the face. It will take several hits to defeat Octogon.
