The King's Key is an item from Phantom Hourglass. On the Isle of Ruins, Link is able to enter Doylan's Tomb and make it all the way to Doylan's Burial Chamber. If Link talks to Doylan within his chamber, he gives Link the King's Key.
Doylan later tells Link to enter Bremeur's Tomb. Link must use the King's Key on the large lock, which breaks the great seal. The water subsides allowing Link to explore all of the lower terrain.
