Dinraal is one of three dragons found in Breath of the Wild. It can be found roaming between the Eldin Great Skeleton in the mid-morning (~9:00 AM) and the southern end of Tanagar Canyon past midnight.

Dinraal can drop four items, including Dinraal's Scale, Dinraal's Claw, Shard of Dinraal's Fang, and Shard of Dinraal's Horn.  One recommended location to wait for Dinraal is at the top of the Eldin Great Skeleton. Another would be the Tabantha Great Bridge. Note that Dinraal may not spawn if you wait at the same location too many times in a row, or during weather. Just be careful of Dinraal's fiery aura because if you paraglide too close it may knock you out of the sky.

Dinraal can drop four items, including Dinraal's Scale, Dinraal's Claw, Shard of Dinraal's Fang, and Shard of Dinraal's Horn. Dinraal's spawning can be very inconsistent, but the following method of farming him is extremely fast, efficient and 100% reliable:

Some ways west of Eldin Great Skeleton is a very large triangular rock (not the smaller curved one, but the larger one further down.) Build a fire at its base and rest until morning. Southeast of this rock is a prominent ledge. Head towards the path leading up to it and Dinraal should spawn in almost immediately. You have plenty of time to get up on the ledge and position yourself for the perfect air shot as the dragon glides by. Collect your body part, relight the campfire, and repeat as needed. The positioning is important: this will not work if you sleep on the ledge. Running from the triangular rock seems to be necessary to trigger the spawn correctly.

Dinraal can also be farmed at Tanagar Canyon, although this is less efficient since you must wait until midnight for him to spawn.

Note that Dinraal may not spawn if you wait at the same location too many times in a row, or during weather. Be careful of Dinraal's fiery aura because if you paraglide too close it may knock you out of the sky.

Shrine Quests
Dinraal is involved in The Spring of Power shrine quest in order to uncover Tutsuwa Nima Shrine, south of the  North Akkala Valley. Link must procure a scale to drop in the Spring of Power, which will open the door to the shrine.

Dinraal is also involved in the DLC-exclusive Shira Gomar Shrine at the Tanagar Canyon, where Link must shoot at its horns when they glow blue to uncover the shrine. The shard serves no purpose towards uncovering the shrine, as the point itself is shooting at the horns.
