Deku Butler's Son

The Deku Butler's Son is a character that is referenced in Majora's Mask. During the Dampé-reminiscent mini-game that Link partakes in with the Deku Butler, the latter mentions that Link reminds him of his son. If the player completes the mini-game and is awarded the Mask of Scents, then the player will also be rewarded with a special cutscene prior to the game's credits. This special scene simply features the Deku Butler sobbing at the foot of the deku-like tree seen near the beginning of the game (Tatl originally mentioned that the tree seemed to have a look of pain). With this evidence, many people believe that the tree was the remains of the Deku Butler's son after the Skull Kid turned him into the mask that Link would come to be cursed with.
