Theory: The Kokiri Tribe’s Connection to the Zonai Tribe
Posted on September 11 2019 by Kristen G. Rosario
The Zonai are one of the more mysterious tribes that inhabit the lands of Hyrule in Breath of the Wild…. or used to inhabit the land in this case. Those in the game who can really explain who these people were are few and far between. The only clues left around that confirm this tribe’s existence are the monuments and structures that can be found all over Hyrule. There’s even one Zelda theorist we have covered in the past who even theorized that the Zonai have a connection to Ganondorf.
Now that same theorist, who goes by Macintyre, (along with the help of LoruleanHistorian) believes that the Zonai have a relation to the Kokiri tribe from Ocarina of Time. This theory was built thanks to some information taken from The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Encyclopedia about the Kokiri tribe. Macintyre thinks that the humans who helped create the Kokiri went off and started their own tribe, the Zonai. For instance, the symbols in the Forest Temple for Twilight Princess are very similar to what the Kokiri use, as are the ones the Koroks use in Breath of the Wild.
What do you think of this theory? Could there really be a deep connection to the Kokiri tribe? Let us know in the comments below!
