Theory: How Did Ganondorf Meet His Fate in Breath of the Wild?
Posted on September 06 2019 by Kristen G. Rosario
Peering into the depths of the eerie E3 2019 reveal trailer we got for the Breath of the Wild sequel has helped us discover the unfortunate news for our two protagonists. The body of Ganondorf, the being forever tied to Princess Zelda and Link’s fate, appears to be awakening once more. The mysteries surrounding his potential resurrection are still being theorized.
One such mystery is: how did Ganondorf die in the first place? Resident Zelda theorist Macintyre takes a deeper look into what happened to the Dark King of Evil. He starts from the events of the First Calamity to where we find Ganondorf now in the Breath of the Wild sequel. The analysis looks into Ganondorf’s possible connection to the Zonai, such as the Zonai symbols he has worn in previous titles, Zonai’s ties to the Lurelin Village, and even the Barbarian Armor set designs that closely resemble features found on Ganon and Ganondorf. Macintyre believes his allegiance to the Zonai could have led to a conflict with the Gerudo.
What do you think of this theory? What do you believe caused Ganondorf to go knocking on Death’s door? Let us know in the comments below.
