Theory: Gossip Stones are Imbued with the Souls of Dead Sheikah

Some of the more unique objects you encounter in the Zelda series are the Gossip Stones. In a regular encounter with one, striking a Stone causes it to bounce around and tell you the time while using a bomb on it launches it upward. However, when you get a chance to talk to a Gossip Stone while wearing the Mask of Truth in Ocarina of TimeĀ and Majora’s Mask, Link can hear them truly speak.
Theorist MaskedNintendoBandit recently released an intriguing theory on the origins of the Gossip Stones. He believes that these mysterious objects were made from a combination of Luminary materials and imbued with the souls of Sheikah who have passed. MNB thinks that the Sheikah use these Gossip Stones to monitor what’s going on in Hyrule.
What do you think of this theory? Where do you think the Gossip Stone originate from? Let us know in the comments below.
