Recently, the any% speedrunning record for Majora’s Mask 3D was broken. Any% simply means that the speedrunner only has to beat the game, and does not have to collect every item. Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask are two of the most common games that Zelda speedrunners choose to master, so it’s no surprise that their remakes would be popular choices as well…

A new World Record has been set for a 100% completion run of Link’s Awakening DX. Keep in mind that a 100% run does allow for glitches, so long as the game is 100% completed. We understand some prefer for pure glitchsless runs. In an effort to be more fair to the speed running community and our fans, we’re going to be reporting on all speed run records that get set for all of the given categories. That includes…

The original Majora’s Mask is now not to be left out of the Any% Speedrun World Records this week. Just a few days ago we shared with you that the Any% Speedrun World Record for Majora’s Mask 3D had been broken not just once but twice in one day, and now we also have to add the original Majora’s Mask to the list. The very same day we told you about Majora’s Mask 3D, FullGrownGaming took first place on the original…

Speedruns have become increasingly more popular over the years and it takes these intrepid gamers no time to tackle what would seem to most, an insane obstacle. The latter is definitely true of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. The game has only been out for a few months and we have already seen numerous gamers try to gain the fastest time. Not even one week ago iwabi, a Japanese speedrurner was able to secure the Majora’s Mask Any…

Ever since the birth of Ocarina of Time, speedrunners have been blasting their way through it using any tactics they can: back flips, sliding, glitches, wall running, etc. Yesterday, the record for fastest completion of the game was broken by a man named Joel Westerberg, who already held the record but decided to break it again.

Westerberg managed to reach the end of the game in 18 minutes and 5 seconds, breaking the previous record…

Speedrunners are getting plenty of attention in the gaming community as of late. A lot of effort goes into what they do and it certainly is no easy feat. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been tackled by many players. However, Cosmo Wright, a speedrunner and co-founder of the site SpeedRunsLive had set a world record of an astonishing 18 minutes and 40 seconds to complete the game. This time he returns to beat that previous achievement in 18 minutes and 10 seconds. He has recently uploaded a video featuring his commentary on the run, in which he discusses several of the…

Speed runners have always and will always impress me immensely. The skill to plow through a game as fast as possible, while exploiting glitches is always amusing to watch and hear about. That being said, the record for completing the first quest in The Legend of Zelda has officially been broken. Click past the jump for more details.

The speedrunning scene as a whole is something to marvel at. The amount of time some people have spent perfecting their execution of all the different techniques required for faster times is nothing short of impressive. Ocarina of Time is one of the most popular games to speedrun, and for good reason. There are many categories that Ocarina speedrunners can choose from, but as far as I’m aware, the most difficult category would probably have to be 100% Completion, as it requires many hours of focused gameplay with dozens of precise glitches to be performed correctly. Check out the time and video inside!

Majora’s Mask has become a fan favorite game of the Zelda series in recent years; the main quest may be shorter than most titles of the franchise, but the side content, characters, and world of the game ensure that it constantly stands out to many of us.

When it comes to speed running

Majora’s Mask 100%, however, that side content can make things incredibly tricky, especially with the in-game clock factored in: you can’t always jump straight from one task to another, as you have to wait for certain points in the three day cycle to start certain quests. And that just makes a new speed run record all the more impressive, which was obtained just a short while ago. Jump inside to check out the new world record video!

Today seems to be the day we post world records, as another one was recently set for A Link Between Worlds. This is an Any% run that chimes in at 1 hour, 32 minutes and 4 seconds. While this time will likely be topped many times over in the future, it is still impressive for a game that hasn’t even been out for a full year. Head inside to see the entire run for yourself.
