A new World Record has been set for a 100% completion run of Link’s Awakening DX. Keep in mind that a 100% run does allow for glitches, so long as the game is 100% completed. We understand some prefer for pure glitchsless runs. In an effort to be more fair to the speed running community and our fans, we’re going to be reporting on all speed run records that get set for all of the given categories. That includes Any%, 100%, Glitchless, and a few others.

This time around, the record was using a Japanese Emulator. The run hasn’t been officially verified just yet, but you can see a full video of the run above, clearly showing the record being set. He claims he can pull off a sub 1:30 run at some point this summer. Personally, I’m just thrilled to see new records being set for other games besides the usual two games that get reported on. The rest of the speed running community that does other titles deserves equal support from the media and the fans.
