Majora’s Mask has become a fan favorite game of the Zelda series in recent years; the main quest may be shorter than most titles of the franchise, but the side content, characters, and world of the game ensure that it constantly stands out to many of us.

When it comes to speed running

Majora’s Mask 100%, however, that side content can make things incredibly tricky, especially with the in-game clock factored in: you can’t always jump straight from one task to another, as you have to wait for certain points in the three day cycle to start certain quests. In a style of gameplay that focuses on not wasting even a single second, this title can become absolute chaos even when things go really well—completing a dungeon five minutes faster than you’d planned might actually screw you if the next task on your schedule is still five minutes from opening up.

And that just makes a new speed run record all the more impressive. Speed runner EnNopp112 took on the game a short while ago, and he emerged with a new world record for the 100% Speed Run: 5 hours, 13 minutes, and 31 seconds. Considering all the sidequests in the game and the challenges we’ve already discussed, this time is absolutely mind blowing for me. I haven’t watched the run for myself yet, and I’m sure there must be some major glitch exploitation involved in it…but even so, being able to complete every single challenge of the game in that amount of time is astounding.
