A brand new Zelda game was just announced during the today’s Nindies Direct. Cadence of Hyrule is a spin-off title combining the worlds of The Legend of Zelda with the gameplay of Crypt of the NecroDancer. Players will now be able to jam out while saving Hyrule from evil forces in glorious fashion. In high-paced, rhythmic action, we are treated to Link and Zelda fighting various monsters from throughout Hyrule’s history, ranging from Bokoblins — finally in pixelated form —  to giant Armos,…

Ocarina of Time just celebrated its 20th birthday, and after over two decades, the game still maintains a hold on the imaginations of countless Zelda fans. From ambitious fan remakes to randomized speed runs, the OoT community is as active as ever, still finding new ways to enjoy the Nintendo 64 classic. Aiming to elevate the game beyond its single-player roots, a team of talented modders, for example, has been hard at work developing a multiplayer version of Ocarina of…

Though perhaps not as extensive as that of Skyrim, Breath of the Wild‘s mod scene has been going strong ever since the Cemu Wii U emulator became capable of running it. Whether they’re bringing meme’s to the land of Hyrule or making it even more similar to an anime than it already is, there’s almost a mod for everything, including, apparently, one to remove the game’s signature cel-shading. Showcased recently by Arkh Longstride on YouTube, and created by Skalefate and altros,…

Since starting the project back in January, God of War’s Art Director Raf Grassetti has been hard at work crafting detailed reimaginings of every Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter. He has now released 18 portraits, two of which feature our very own leading lads: Link and the newly added Ganondorf. Grassetti went with the Twilight Princess inspired model for his Ganondorf redesign, and it’s certainly an imposing figure that would fit right into God of War. Grassetti’s newly unveiled illustrations…

Link’s Awakening may not be the only Zelda game releasing in 2019, if certain online speculation is to be believed. A significant rumor was recently started on GameFAQs and is currently gaining traction among mainstream Nintendo news sites. According to GameFAQ’s user Vergeben, a source close to Nintendo has claimed that a “smaller” 2D Zelda title will release in 2019, in addition to Link’s Awakening. According to an exchange between Vergeben and another GameFAQs user, this unannounced 2D Zelda title…

Just in time for the title’s second birthday, Nintendo has released a new “Sights & Sounds” promo for Breath of the Wild. But beyond just promoting the latest Zelda adventure, this video also takes viewers on an immersive walk through the woods. This new “Sights and Sounds” promo aims to show the similarities between Breath of the…

Last year, Japan was lucky enough to witness its own Zelda Concert series. This three-night symphonic event featured songs and medleys from a variety of Zelda games, with one of the biggest highlights being music from the massively successful Breath of the Wild. This thrilling video, released by Nintendo (on the eve of a CD release for the concert), highlights both the beautiful sights and sounds that Breath of the Wild contributed to the concert. In the video, the full orchestra…

Disclaimer: The video above features crude language. American rapper Soulja Boy “Tell ‘Em” has flown in Nintendo’s orbit quite frequently in recent months. In December, he promoted a line of name-branded video game consoles which turned out to be just marked up Chinese emulators; he pulled the consoles from market after Nintendo threatened legal action. It seems the young entrepreneur has not let the Big N’s threats deter him though, as he recently released a new single called “Zelda,” which…
