LEGO Hylian Shield

March 16 2014 by Maanav Goyal

YouTuber ZaziNombies has recently built a life size Hylian Shield comprised entirely of LEGOs. The shield is based off the Skyward Sword design, but to make it similar to his Minecraft style creations he used a more pixel art look when making it. The shield is made up by a whopping 2000 LEGOs,  is 28 inches long and 2o inches wide, and as ZaziNombies himself predicts, can withstand multiple slashes from a proper metal sword. The best way to see…

A replica prop maker named Tobias Lungaard Larson has made some truly impressive models of Majora’s Mask from the Zelda game of the same name. Over the course of eight months, Tobius has created very detailed molds of the mask and has painted one in the original color scheme, and the other in what he calls a “dark” style. Check out the final products after the jump!

I am not sure if any of you remember, but a few months ago I posted about a work-in-progress Majora’s Mask art project. The project by Mario Mayer is an incredibly realistic, wooden replica of the mask. The mask is not only carved from a single slab of wood besides the horns and eyes but is fully sized and perfectly textured. When I first featured it in July it was only in the beginning stages, without even the spikes or…

Hollywood prop maker and blacksmith Man at Arms has been recreating a large number of various weapons and items from movies and video game series. This week he updated his YouTube channel AWE me with a video of his latest project, creating a replica of the master sword from the Legend of Zelda. In the video he goes over the whole process from designing it, casting the hilt and pommel out of bronze, to finishing those minute details such as…

Recently a user on Imgur has uploaded a very accurate replica of the iconic Deku Shield that Link wielded in Ocarina of Time. Hit the jump to see this masterpiece!

A Hylian Shield of Wood

December 06 2012 by ralphpotato

Pretty much all of the replica Hylian Shields out there that you can buy are made of wood. Though the actual shield in-game is some sturdy, yet lightweight magical metal, real metal shields are expensive and heavy. However, they’re all painted to hide their organic origins and just looking at the shield, it might as well be metal. But to clefrayearth of deviantART, the the brown wood enhances the look of a replica Hylian Shield, so that’s exactly what he made. Hit…

Zelda fans are awesome. You’d be hard-pressed to find a video game series which has more dedicated and faithful fan following like the Legend of Zelda does. Probably one of the best places to see the accumulation of all this love for Zelda is Etsy, where people display and sell a large variety of items. Despite the fact that a lot of these items are handmade, there are some users who are capable of producing very high quality and professional…

Some people do some crazy things to own some life sized replicas of famous equipment from our favorite series, Zelda. The guy over at FiberGlassBlades has created an amazing replica of the mirror shield, complete with a full reflective surface that absolutely blows my mind! The shear detail of the piece makes me feel as if I’m actually looking at the real shield that Link used in Ocarina of Time, the original N64 version. Take the jump to check out…

Zelda replicas have found their way all over the net and appearing in many different forms. If you have the money just lying around than you can pretty much buy a life size replica of literally anything you would like from the series. I myself have had the chance to buy several different Master Sword and Hylian Shield reproductions, but have never came across something like this. Etsy user, Riley Planalp, has created an very detailed and wearable Majora’s Mask…
