Tomorrow we’re getting a surprise Nintendo Direct happening world wide that will feature titles for the Wii U and 3DS. For those curious, the above times are for the North American version, while Europe is getting theirs at 11pm (10pm in the UK) and Japan at 7am. I believe if my math is correct that means this direct will be airing at the exact same time world wide… and we only have to look at history to understand that sort of significance. Generally when they do a world wide Nintendo Direct that isn’t game specific it’s something to be excited about – especially today when they have only had one…

It’s no surprise that the latest Nintendo Direct about Super Smash Bros. for Wii U exceeded our expectations about the Wii U version of the game. Not only will Super Smash Bros. for Wii U have more and bigger stages, but there will even be a brand new type of stage created for this particular entry: foreground-background stages. As the name suggests, these stages have two levels to them – one in the front and one towards the “back” – and fighters can battle in either or both of these areas.  The first (and perhaps the only) stage shown to demonstrate this capability is the Jungle Hijinks stage from the Donkey Kong series, in which…

We’ve had our suspicions for a while, but last night’s Hyrule Warriors Direct finally provided confirmation: we will be able to play as villains. While this is a completely new feature for The Legend of Zelda (outside of Super Smash Bros., of course), this is far from unusual for a game in the Dynasty Warriors franchise. And between the footage from the stream, the plethora of new screenshots we received today, and the official descriptions thus far, we’ve gathered quite a bit about these wanton warriors. While there’s still no character…

After months upon months of waiting, the question all of you had above all others regarding Hyrule Warriors, “is anyone outside of Japan getting that sweet scarf?”, has finally been answered: yes. While the Hyrule Warriors Direct revealed a boatload of information, there were minute differences between the ones shown to different regions. For example, the one for Japan featured a badge referencing the Fierce Deity’s mask, whereas the North American direct did not.
