Among the many games being released with the upcoming Wii U, a considerable number are being made by Nintendo themselves, like Nintendo Land. However, many third-party companies are also chiming in with their own games. Since many of these are being released on other systems as well, a number of companies are pushing to add something special to the Wii U version of their games that no other version can have. For Namco-Bandai’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2, that special something…

In my old article, Overworlds: The Land Between, I took the time to define the personal names I have for four styles of overworld commonly seen in Zelda. The wilderness is a wild and dangerous area where you are left on your own, while the map is either a miniaturized representation of the world or little more than a menu. But it’s the hub and transportation overworlds that I will be focusing on in this article, for I believe that…

A recent animated music video by Your favorite Martian covered a song by Gotye titled “Someone That I Used To Know” we see a few familiar faces appear along with the underwear clad band. Namely Mario, Princess Zelda, and Link, and Princess Peach. The song itself covers the ending of a relationship and having to cope however in the video we actually see the ending of a relationship between Mario and Princess Zelda. Jump inside to see it for yourself.

The Legend of Zelda cartoons from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show: every Zelda fan has probably heard of it, few have watched it, and even fewer love it. The show aired in 1989 once a week for a mere thirteen episodes. The basic premise was simple enough; Zelda has the Triforce of Wisdom, while Ganon has the Triforce of Power. Whoever captures both Triforce pieces is the ruler of Hyrule. This leads to Ganon sending minions to steal the…

During this developer roundtable there is a quick look at some features of the Super Mario 3D game. We previously reported this video noting the ‘Siren World’, but we didn’t mention this other Zelda goodie. If you watch the video around 2:20, there’s a quick mention of a top down section of the game which was called a tribute to the classic top down Legend of Zelda games in honor of Zelda’s 25th anniversary.

As we well know Ocarina of Time 3D is not exactly a port or a re-make by normal conventions. Here’s more proof: In the garden scene where Link first meets young Princess Zelda there used to be portraits of Mario, Bowser, Luigi and Peach that could be seen by looking through the window. In Ocarina of Time 3D we instead find some warp pipes and blocks that are characteristic of the Mario games. These pictures even show a classic Super…

Nerd Reactor recently interviewed Tony Janning, who plays the main character Neil on the popular web show The Legend of Neil. The interview (here) does have some vulgar language so it may not appeal to some readers. Questions in the interview include everything from the production process, the success of the show, and how raunchy (or not) the show actually is. It’s a fun read and I recommend that all of the Legend of Neil fans give a quick read…

The Legend of Zelda is the game series that we all know and love. Almost all of us hold the Super Mario series very close to us as well. For a lot of us, Super Mario 64 was our very first video game ever. I love them both, but has the Zelda series made decisions so that the games are stuck at a standstill?

Well dang, guys! E3’s less than a week away. Only a few days really! Another video, sort of related. This one doesn’t actually specifically talk about Zelda Wii, but rather some things that have been suggested for the Zelda series that a lot of people have been talking about. Some of them have talked about them in Zelda Wii (as is inevitable when discussing future ideas). It seemed appropriate for me to go over them. Some of these are ideas…

Whassup people? Got a slightly special mailbag for you this week! This one, except for two questions, is all about Zelda Wii! E3 is drawing near, so there’ll be a lot more to see when they reveal more on the game then, but for now I’ll try to talk about it as much as possible. The questions and their timestamps are: (00:06) – Did you like Chancellor Cole in Spirit Tracks? (00:34) – Do you like rolling in Zelda, and…
