Today’s Nintendo Direct gave us a clear view as to what we can expect from Mario Kart 8‘s first DLC-pack featuring Link!

The downloadable content holds, among other things, two new map packs; the Triforce Cup and the Egg Cup. The first holds the following tracks: Warios’s Gold Mine (returning from Mario Kart Wii’s rendition), Rainbow Road (from the SNES), Ice Ice Outpost, and the beautiful  Hyrule Circuit. The latter includes Yoshi’s Circuit (GCN)…

Can’t wait to get your hands on the new Zelda pack DLC for Mario Kart 8? Well here’s a video preview of the whole track from GameXplain at a glorious 60FPS! Click the link below to follow.

Nintendo have updated their official Mario Kart 8 website with news of a new software update for the game, available to download for free from November 13th. The update will allow for Mii racer outfit customization, by allowing players to change their Mii’s racing suit to ones based on those of each amiibo.

Nintendo has surprised us yet again with some more amiibo news. Their holiday website, Nintendo Gift Guide, has listed that the Link amiibo will be able to be used with Mario Kart 8. We already knew that amiibo were going to be compatible with multiples games aside from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, such as Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors, and it is nice to see that Nintendo is starting to let us know which amiibo will be compatible with which games.

With the upcoming release of Nintendo’s Amiibos fans everywhere wonder what games will use Amiibos, which Amiibos will be used, and how they will add to the gaming experience. Mario Kart 8 is one of the games in question, but good news for Zelda fans has risen about it! Hit the jump for the confirmation!

Link is joining the cast of Mario Kart 8 next month, but it seems he timed his first foreray into racing at the perfect time to show off on the internet, as YouTube just launched support for 60 FPS videos. Currently it only supports HD videos and Google Chrome, but this is still a nice step forward for the #1 video hosting platform. Mario Kart TV is a method Nintendo has already included in Mario Kart 8 to share videos to YouTube, so it will be exciting to see all of your best Link races next month in that full 60fps. We have a sample video inside…

We have already talked about the new Master Cycle that is going to be included in DLC Pack 1 for Mario Kart 8. Looking surprisingly like Epona, it is the perfect steel steed for our favourite hero. But there is even more interesting news on Miiverse straight from Eiji Aonuma himself. Click through to find out what the buzz is about. Have you been dreaming of a steam punk world? How about an even faster travel method than Epona? It appears that Eiji Aonuma likes the Master Cycle in Mario Kart 8 so much that he wants to implement it into a game he is working on (which we all know right now is Zelda U). While this initially seems like a silly notion, this is the series that has had magical talking sail boats, a steam boat, and even a train. Add on that the series has lasers and other mystical (and mechanical) elements, it may not be as out of place as one would think. Here is what Eiji Aonuma had to say on Miiverse when talking…

Today on Twitter, Nintendo UK announced that a new vehicle, the Master Cycle, is to be included in the first DLC pack for Mario Kart 8 for Nintendo Wii U

Announced back in August, Nintendo surprised us with news that included Link and a few standard Hylian vehicles as part of the newest and most exciting Mario Kart 8 DLC pack that we’ve seen thus far. As if that weren’t enough, the official Nintendo UK Twitter account revealed to us today a peek of Link’s newest ride with the given and worthy name—the Master Cycle. Hit the jump for more!
