The Wind Waker HD has only been on the market for a few weeks now, but it has already boosted sales of Nintendo’s ailing Wii U console -in Europe at least. Wii U purchases have increased by a whooping 685 percent across the United Kingdom after the release of the enhanced GameCube remake in Europe on Oct. 4. Learn more after the jump. 

Every Thursday, the staff at Game Informer take a look at the biggest game releases of the week in their Test Chamber video show, and this week The Wind Waker HD was featured. Each week the editors of Game Informer revisit the games of yesterday in an online video series called Replay. Originally The Wind Waker had been known to be more time consuming in general gameplay, whether it was sailing from island to island or even treasure hunting. According to a recent interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, with the HD aside, various game mechanics have been improved including a faster sailing pace as well as shorter chain for treasure hunting.
