Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma was recently featured in a Game Informer interview, and a question came up about the scarcity of bottles in the new Majora’s Mask 3D remake and Zelda in general. While there are plenty of vases around, and even a lot of cups, bottles themselves are rather rare in the series, and Link can only hold a limited supply of them. These rare items also serve many uses in the series, which prompted Aonuma to talk about how powerful a bottle really is…

A Zelda game taking home Game of the Month honors isn’t unheard of. A remastered remake of a Zelda game, however, is a different story. As noted by Game Informer itself, they actively try to avoid giving such games the Game of the Month honor, but they decided that the tweaks and improvements make Majora’s Mask 3D the ideal Majora’s Mask experience. You could also simply argue that February was a pretty barren month for major game software, though they could have easily tipped their cap to Monster Hunter 4. It just must not be their sort of game. Still, this is a pretty neat honor and it helps elevate the status of an already elite franchise…

With the release of Majora’s Mask 3D as close as ever, review outlets are beginning to share more of their footage from the game. Yesterday, Game Informer streamed an hour of gameplay, offering commentary on their experiences with the game’s opening. The recording follows the player’s first encounters in Clock Town, hide-and-seek with the Bombers, and the first confrontation with Skull Kid

Among major general video game news publications, only roughly seven outlets gave A Link Between Worlds a perfect score. For those that recall, we gave the game five Reggies out of five, but obviously our perspective could be perceived by many to be skewed in the game’s favor. A lot of folks have questioned the perfect scores out there, but very few publications have posted a response. Game Informer, in the unique position that is both a popular print magazine and an online news outlet, was in the unique position to respond to fan questions about it in their latest issue. Game Informer, for those unaware, gave A Link Between Worlds a perfect score. Game Informer fan Hank sent in the following email question:

“The Legend of Zelda is one of the best franchises ever to exist. Game Informer has awarded a perfect 10 to a lot of them. I love the Zelda games, so I’m not disputing that; I’m just wondering if these games are being awarded their 10s simply for being Zelda. I know that not every Zelda game has earned a 10, but whenever I see a new one coming out, I feel it’s safe to say that it will garner a perfect rating from you guys.” — Hank

Playing A Link Between Worlds in 60 frames per second was an incredibly enjoyable experience. Just seeing Link smoothly glide across the screen without any lag was visually stunning and allowed the human eye to focus better on our hero’s surroundings and the amazing world of Hyrule. Now that we know what may be gained from the visuals of a modern Zelda game you might come to a conclusion that 60 frames per second would become the standard for a…
