For years now, “Nintendo Minute” has been a weekly installment of all sorts of fun things from challenges to unboxings. The series, hosted by Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang, serves to promote upcoming Nintendo releases, with it being an offshoot of Nintendo’s official YouTube channel.

Recently, they duo returned to a famous location in Breath of the Wild known as Eventide Island. The Shrine hidden there requires Link to be stripped of his armor and weaponry, forcing him to rely only on the potential resources of the island to find the orbs and discover the Shrine. It is a challenge that stalls the momentum of constantly gaining better and newer weapons and armor, and it tests the player’s ability to rely on their wits instead. Kit and Krysta challenged themselves to survive on the island for 24 in-game hours, with Kit playing for the first twelve and Krysta playing the last twelve.

As mentioned in the video, the choice to feature Eventide Island with a 24 hour survival challenge is meant to remind fans of the upcoming switch title Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The game is set to take place on a deserted island, with the player building a home and community from the resources given. The resemblance to Breath of the Wild‘s Eventide Island is not mistaken, however Breath of the Wild being featured in Nintendo content has been a current trend that has fans even more anxious for the sequel.
