This week’s big news is, hands down, Majora’s Mask 3D being announced, but now that the whole “Operation Moonfall” project has successfully won Nintendo’s attention enough for a remake release, what other games might we expect remakes of? Should there be any more remakes at all?

the-legend-of-zelda-the-wind-waker-hd-wii-uI must say, I was never a big Operation Moonfall supporter. I much preferred the idea of Nintendo putting their minds to work on a brand new Zelda game. To make my point clear, even as close as A Link Between Worlds was to A Link to the Past, it was still its own game, and it was a true masterpiece. That being said, after playing The Wind Waker HD, a remake of my favorite Zelda, and seeing the improvements and nostalgic value behind such a remake, I can see the potential in Nintendo releasing Majora’s Mask 3D, especially with such backing from the fans. So, if all goes well, and Nintendo says, “Hey! Let’s remake another classic Zelda!”, what game should they choose?

statues2The first thing that comes to mind for me is a 3D remake of the 2D Zelda’s as many have wished for inthe past, as the oldest remaining 3D Zelda is Twilight Princess, and it is not in need of an update. But bringing a game from 2D to 3D is quite the process. That would mean overhauling the whole game, and likely changing the gameplay mechanics all-together. A radical move, sure, but for all we know, it could work out well. Of course, they could simply update the graphics, but is that really worth the work when the classic 2D games are already in the eShop?

What do you guys think? Should Nintendo remake more Zelda games, and if so, which ones? How could they be updated? Leave a comment!
