Daily Debate: Besides Tears of the Kingdom, What Are Your Hopes for Zelda in 2023?
Posted on December 13 2022 by Chakell Herbert
2022 didn’t give us much of anything new Zelda-wise. Despite the many rumors that circulated, we didn’t receive any new remasters and the biggest announcement was the Tears of the Kingdom title, and also the news that it is being delayed until 2023, when it was originally slated for 2022.
However, 2023 could be the year we’ve been waiting for. With this new major title releasing in May, perhaps this is year where our beloved franchise will be revitalized and we might see even more than just Tears of the Kingdom? Maybe beloved classics like The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess will be released and remastered for the Switch? Maybe the Oracle games will be given a treatment like Link’s Awakening? Maybe we will see more accessibility for playing Game Boy classics like The Minish Cap or Four Swords via virtual console Game Boy games on the Switch?
I for one would love to see all of these ideas come to fruition! Who knows what 2023 holds in store for us, but from the small glimpses we’ve had of Tears of the Kingdom, I think we are in for a fantastic time.
What do you think? What would you love to see in 2023 regarding Zelda? Let me know in the comments!

She has loved The Legend of Zelda series since she was a little girl because of its equal mix of princesses, besting bad guys, and heartfelt stories.
