I have always loved Zelda games for having distinct overworld themes that are instantly recognizable and somehow fitting each game perfectly. Although A Link to the Past and Spirit Tracks are among my favorites, Twilight Princess’ overworld theme harnesses a certain daring and reckless adventurous spirit that hurls a player forward.

Content creator Vector U has captured this wonderfully in their remix of the song. The remix features all the different moving parts of the dynamic theme, even adding “Midna’s Lament” at the end to fade out. And, much like the songs in Cadence of Hyrule, there is a steady, pulsating beat present throughout the song that made me want to tap along with it.

Additionally, they layered in sound effects — such calling Midna, using the Hookshot, and getting a rupee — adding familiar sounds that pull you straight back to playing Twilight Princess or even playing Zelda games in general. All in all, the remix pays tribute the the original soundtrack’s timelessness and adaptability, celebrating the franchise’s stellar music.

What did you think of the remix? Did you catch all the sound effects? Let us know in the comments below!
