Now here is something you don’t see everyday. During the recently concluded Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 speedrun marathon, a race held for A Link to the Past demonstrated a way of playing you may not have seen before: beating every boss in the reverse order. This obviously involves a lot of glitches and wall clips, so expect the game to be broken beyond belief. The winner finished the race in 1:29:47. Also, an interview was held before the race…

If you are not familiar, papercrafts are an increasingly popular craft on the web where one downloads and prints a set of foldable paper parts, cuts out, folds, and glues them all together, forming any number of hollow paper figures. Gamers often love to make papercrafts of their favorite characters and creatures, and YouTuber SuperRetroBro decided he wanted to make a timelapse of him building a papercraft of Hyrule Warriors’ Sheik. And boy did he succeed! Seeing the tall, detailed…

In a recent YouTube video by Zeltic, he listed five things that Zelda U could learn from A Link to the Past. The first point was to make the introduction sequence short and simple. The next point was to have the perfect difficulty that was not so hard that it made you want to throw the controller, but not so easy that you would breeze through it. He felt that the game should have lots of dungeons like A Link…

In a recent video by TiLMENDOMiNATiON he showed a side by side comparison of Hyrule Warriors Legends on the 3DS and New 3DS. The main difference was with the frame rate, with it being noticeably lower on the 3DS version of the title where it got quite jittery in parts, the New 3DS version was not perfect but held up much better. The Wii U version of the game will always perform better but you will have a smoother experience…

Music covers in the Zelda fandom are not hard to come by, but I love finding something where someone has put their own creative twist to it. Especially with a tune as awesome as the Dark World theme from A Link to the Past. YouTube user RichaabEB has done just that, giving the theme a rock edge that makes it sound like an action packed montage or an epic fight is taking place. Make the jump to check it out!

Some time ago, an Indiegogo page came up to collect fund for a Zelda-based web series, called Royal Guards. The crowd funding was successful, and after a whole lot of work, and some major setbacks causing them to almost completely redo their production, the pilot episode is finally here! It may not be exactly what many thought it would be, but it is still very good. The short episode is heavily Zelda-inspired, and is definitely worth a watch. Check out…

It’s common knowledge at this point that the ‘first’ Ganon(dorf) was the Demon King Demise, and that the ‘first’ Zelda was the mortal being the Goddess Hylia took after she sent the human race skyward and away from the war on the surface. This took place in Skyward Sword. The console game released in 2011 did explain the beginning of several key elements we see in each game. For an example other than the main characters, there’s the making of…

Ah, the joy of breaking childhood games. SpeedDemosArchive’s charity speedrn marathon, Awesome Games Done Quick 2016, is well under way, and two days ago, Lackattack24 had a great run of The Legend of Zelda on NES. As with any other run, Lack and the gentlemen on the couch help to explain what is going on, how certain aspects of the game work, and what is done to glitch the game. It is an entertaining run, clocking in at 30 minutes…

In a recent Games Done Quick, Casusby completed an any percentage speed run of Oracle of Ages. He acheived a time of 1:59:43. Although this is not as fast as the world record of 1:34:48 it is still an impressive feat and something that I am unable to even dream of doing. Coming in at under two hours it is impressive and great to watch, providing hours of entertainment for those who choose to view it.   Check out the…

Some of you may remember a couple of countdown videos I’ve posted over the years that a friend and I have put together. It started as a one off project but has ended up becoming a yearly tradition and we’ve recently done our fourth countdown: the Top 10 Mini Bosses from across the Zelda series. We have a side plot incorporated into the videos now that mainly started in the previous video, so if you haven’t seen that the intro…
