Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on Deviantart artist, Turtle-Arts‘s fanart, ‘A Simple Gift’. This fanart features Link and the Skull Kid from Ocarina of Time. Link is offering the Skull Kid the skull mask he borrowed from the Happy Mask Shop. The Skull Kid is interested in the mask since he thinks it will make him look tougher. After Link gives it to him, he only pays 10 rupees for it when in actuality it’s price is 20. Stingy kid…

The perspective used for this piece really helps one to see how it looks from the Skull Kid’s point of view and also shows that he is a little hesitant to approach the young Hylian boy. Upon seeing the mask though, this hesitation begins to disappear. The sunlight peeking through the trees helps to illuminate the area and show off the environment that the two are in. That environment being the Lost Woods. It also shows the little stump that Link stands on in order to interact with Skull Kid.

I like this fanart. It is beautiful and was done excellently. My personal favorite part of this picture is the smile that is on Link’s face. He’s trying to be nice to the Skull Kid and offer him the mask. How sweet!
