We can never have too many lo-fi arrangements of Zelda songs, in my humble opinion, and Studio Nicktendo’s Hero of Chill is a welcome addition. The 14 track album includes lo-fi covers of popular and less oft reimagined Zelda songs like “Mabe Village” from Link’s Awakening and “Din’s Dance” from Oracle of Seasons. Whether you want to relax or need some calming tunes to get you through the workday, “Hero of Chill” is worth giving a listen.

All the songs on the album are skillfully arranged to stay true to the originals while heightening the relaxing reverb and head-bopping backbeats. The album is available on all major streaming platforms, and the tracklist is as follows:

There is something for everybody with this spread of songs, though I do hope Studio Nicktendo does a sequel album with some deeper cuts in the future. Nicktendo specializes in pop punk and lo-fi VGM covers. Hero of Chill appears to be his first foray into the lo-fi genre, but if you want to hear more check out his pop punk and metalcore covers of Persona, Final Fantasy, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Mario, and more Zelda songs

Did you like “Hero of Chill”? Are there any other Zelda tunes you would like to hear Studio Nicktendo reimagine? Share your thoughts in the comments!
