Top 10 Scariest Retro Enemies: Wallmaster

The folks over at ScrewAttack are celebrating Halloween with a countdown of their Top 10 Scariest Retro Enemies. When I think of scary enemies in the Legend of Zelda series, I immediately think of the ReDeads from Ocarina of Time and subsequent Legend of Zelda games. However, the more I think of it… Wallmasters might fit this description even better. Wallmasters first appeared in the original Legend of Zelda and have appeared in a variety of Zelda titles since. The ones that were the scariest for me were the Wallmasters from A Link to the Past, since they literally just fell from the ceiling to grab you. Creepy.

Since the countdown was only considering Retro Enemies, no ReDeads can be found and in fact, all the enemies are 2d creatures. Where did the Wallmaster fit on the list? Make the jump to check out the video embed of the Top 10 Scariest Retro Enemies.
