One of the more prominent aspects of Skyward Sword was the fact that it identified the origin of many Zelda elementsThe game gave explanation to the forging of the Master Sword, the heroism of a courageous boy in green, the beginnings of the kingdom of Hyrule, and the emergence of a bloodlust-centric villain. Demise’s promise to continue his hatred in multiple reincarnations not only was a haunting assurance to the hero Link, but also to the current incarnation of the goddess Hylia, Zelda.

In a recent video, YouTuber The Geek Apprentice is joined by Hyrule Gamer to connect this phenomenon to the 2017 installment Breath of the Wild. In citing the implication in Skyward Sword that all Zelda’s are related by blood and therefore pass down the Triforce of Wisdom, they associate it with the sealing power harnessed in Breath of the Wild. Yet, The Geek Apprentice still begged the question of why Zelda’s mother and grandmother had this sealing power without the obvious presence of Calamity Ganon.

The video then goes on to look into the Breath of the Wild sequel trailer, theorizing that the mysterious glowing green hand could be a manifestation of the Goddess Hylia’s multiple past reincarnations and the culmination of accumulated sealing powers. They also look at Ganondorf’s presence in the trailer, and the connection it harbors with Calamity Ganon. Furthermore, they come to the conclusion that there were multiple reincarnations of the Goddess Hylia because Ganondorf was never truly defeated, manifesting as a calamity while still planted in caves deep below the land of Hyrule.

What do you think about these connections? How do you think this will be addressed in the sequel? Let us know in the comments below!
