Tears of the Kingdom Has The Seventh Biggest Game Launch Ever in Japan

Having already sold over 10 million units worldwide, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is shattering sales records all across the world!
Keeping in line with the game’s success in other parts of the world, Tears of the Kingdom has officially landed among the Top 10 best video game launches of all time in Japan. With an estimated 2.24 million units sold at launch in the country, as reported by Game Data Library, Tears of the Kingdom now boasts Japan’s seventh biggest game launch ever. The game ranks higher than titles like Final Fantasy VII, Pokémon X/Y, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.

Japan’s Top 5 biggest game launches include Final Fantasy VIII, Pokémon Black/White, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Splatoon 3, and Pokémon Scarlet/Violet. That’s a lot of Nintendo.
