It hasn’t even been a week since its launch, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is already the franchise’s fastest-selling game in history. Having already sold ten million copies worldwide, as announced by Nintendo, Tears of the Kingdom is officially the second best-selling Zelda game ever, surpassing Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess within days of its release.
Breath of the Wild still remains at the top of the list with 29.81 million units sold since its release six years ago. But Tears of the Kingdom has largely outpaced the sales of its predecessor, as Breath of the Wild had only sold about 3.84 million units worldwide, between Wii U and Switch, by the end of March 2017.
Nintendo of America has issued a profound thanks to all of us fans who have been glued to our screens (while glueing machines together, of course) for the past four days.
The Legend of #Zelda: #TearsOfTheKingdom has sold over 10 million copies worldwide in its first three days, becoming the fastest-selling game in the history of the Legend of Zelda series.
