In this week’s Weekly Famitsu in Japan, Princess Agitha from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was announced as a playable fighter in Tecmo-Koei’s Hyrule Warriors. The announcement also mentions a “Lana” as a playable character. Some have already speculated this to be Princess Lana from the old Captain N animated series, but nothing solid on that, yet. It is just as likely she is the extra character on the game’s box art (included after the jump). According to Siliconera, the Famitsu announcement also says Zant and Argorok, also of Twilight Princess will make appearances. It would not be much of a jump in logic to expect to see them as bosses.

Following in much the same style of the short gameplay video revealed just a few days ago, Tecmo Koei has just released another, this time demonstrating Link’s impressively devastating abilities with the Fire Rod. Watch the video after the jump!

In a recent interview between Kyle Hilliard of Game Informer and the Hyrule Warriors producers, including Eiji Aonuma, the question of the game’s production time arose. According to the producers at Tecmo Koei, the game has only been in production for two years. Read on to get the full details from the interview.

The post E3 interviews just keep rolling in, and with them we learn more and more about the creative process behind a lot of games. A recent interview with Eiji Aonuma, supervisor of Hyrule Warriors and producer of several other Zelda games, shows that he hopes that Hyrule Warriors can be an entry point to the series for many of those who’ve never played a Zelda game before. Follow the link to read the quotation from Aonuma himself!

On Friday morning, Tecmo Koei was kind enough to release a gameplay trailer centered around Link! While our hero is supposedly a knight-in-training, one wouldn’t think so after seeing his incredible acrobatic moves being displayed in this action-packed video. Hit the jump to view it in all of its glory!

Tecmo Koei has posted a new video featuring Link in the upcoming Hyrule Warriors. The video gives us another glimpse at Link’s special abilities and their effectiveness on the battlefield. Click on to read more and check the video out for yourself.

Hyrule Warriors is an interesting hybrid of action gaming, and developer Tecmo Koei must walk a fine line when adapting its classic gameplay formula for one of the most iconic and, dare I say it, legendary gaming series around. From what I experienced on the E3 show floor, Hyrule Warriors will probably be the best Dynasty Warriors game to hit the market, but is that enough to warrant a purchase?

Find out after the jump.

Eiji Aonuma, the main man behind The Legend of Zelda franchise, was recently in an interview with Kotaku about Hyrule Warriors as a whole. Interestingly enough, one of the topics that came up was a question of Aonuma’s opinion about the female protagonists within the upcoming game. Click inside for more details!

Just how much involvement does Eiji Aonuma have with Hyrule Warriors? Thanks to a recent interview from Kotaku, we now know the answer to that. Read on for details!

Eiji Aonuma, the man currently in charge of the Legend of Zelda series as a whole, loosened the reigns a bit when he decided to let Tecmo Koei make Hyrule Warriors, but he still checks in on them. The check-ins themselves are not any more obtrusive or common than the ones he makes on the internal Nintendo team, because Aonuma has just as much confidence in them as he does his own crew. Click through to see just what he had to say.
