Hello readers! Brian here with the fifteenth edition of “The Best and Worst of Zelda.” This week we’ll be continuing where we left off last week! Don’t forget to comment your ideas for future topics below! Musical instruments have become not only helpful items, but thematic staples in the plot of a Zeelda game. This, I believe, begins in Ocarina of Time and carries through many future games in the series. As we had made it through every game up…

Hello readers! Brian here with the fifth installment of “The Best and Worst of Zelda.” This awesome topic was suggested by Christian, so much thanks to him! Remember to leave your ideas for next week in the comments below. The sidequest is an extremely important element to pull off in a Zelda game. Though by nature an unnecessary portion of the game, sidequests exist only to enhance the gameplay experience and absorb the player even further into the mind of…

“Psychopomp” is a really funny-sounding word that simply refers to a figure or entity who escorts deceased souls to the afterlife. Each psychopomp has different rules, behavior, treatment or transportation of souls, and indeed even send them to different afterlives. With legends about what happens when people die being so prominent in religions both old and new, it should be no surprise that the Zelda series takes a lot of influence from the many psychopomps featured in them. While of…

Ever since they first appeared in Ocarina of Time, there have been a lot of questions regarding the divinity of both Jabu-Jabu and the Deku Tree, though Jabu-Jabu especially. Many fans ask just how they qualify as deities. They are by no means gods as Western audiences understand. They live and die, they are tangible, physical, breathing beings living in Hyrule like any other mortal race. “Clearly,” the Western audience must be thinking, “there must be something more to this….

The Zelda series has undergone numerous changes throughout its history. As it has advanced, it’s naturally undergone a “streamlining” process, making it more accessible to new players. While this in itself is not bad, it has led to some trends that, when misused, have had detrimental results. The series started out with perfect pacing. In the original Legend of Zelda, the speed of the game was largely determined by the player. It wouldn’t stop for cutscenes, so gameplay was a…

Some fans have argued lately that the Zelda series has gotten a bit stale. The sad part is, there is some validity to their arguments. While Nintendo has promised that Skyward Sword will be revolutionary in the same way that Ocarina of Time was, the plot already looks like the same old “green-clad elf lookalike rescues princess from evil in a fantasy world after collecting plot devices, probably with a twist shortly after the third dungeon.” Even if the gameplay…

So here it is, finally! My comparison of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Which one has the best design? Which one has the best ideas? Best story? Best dungeons? And which one is the best overall? I give you my thoughts. While not necessary to watch to fully understand this video, you might be interested in watching my Impressions videos for both Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. But enough about mine. What are yours? What did you think of the…

Heyyy guys! Been a while since I did a non-mailbag video huh? This one is the impressions video for Spirit Tracks, which I beat a little while ago; sorry for the wait! This video explains my thoughts on the game. Of course, I tried to make it as entertaining as possible too! This video is only about Spirit Tracks. This does not cover my opinion of the game in comparison to Phantom Hourglass, only my thoughts on Spirit Tracks on…

Well dang, guys! E3’s less than a week away. Only a few days really! Another video, sort of related. This one doesn’t actually specifically talk about Zelda Wii, but rather some things that have been suggested for the Zelda series that a lot of people have been talking about. Some of them have talked about them in Zelda Wii (as is inevitable when discussing future ideas). It seemed appropriate for me to go over them. Some of these are ideas…

Whassup people? Got a slightly special mailbag for you this week! This one, except for two questions, is all about Zelda Wii! E3 is drawing near, so there’ll be a lot more to see when they reveal more on the game then, but for now I’ll try to talk about it as much as possible. The questions and their timestamps are: (00:06) – Did you like Chancellor Cole in Spirit Tracks? (00:34) – Do you like rolling in Zelda, and…
