After only a few months since release, Majora’s Mask 3D is already being smashed by speedrunners. For the last month or so, the goal of MM3D speedrunners was to finish the game in less than an hour and 50 minutes. This week marks the completion of this goal, as well as new world records from two different runners. Today saw runner gymnast86 break the record with a time of 1 hour and 47 minutes; shortly after, runner iwabi broke that record with a time of 1 hour, 46 minutes, and 9 seconds…

Many may recall that Cosmo, popular speedrunner of Ocarina of Time with his famous world record of 18:10, once said that “Ocarina of Time is dead”, in terms of new speedrunning tricks being found. Even the now world record holder, 17-year-old skater82297, said in August that the ever-chased-after sub-18-minute run would not happen. Yet, just recently, on his Twitch stream, skater caught a 17:47 world record. This just goes to show that there is almost always room for optimization, and…

There may be a lot of talk about Ocarina of Time speedruns, but The Legend of Zelda on NES still has its own active speedrunning community. An elusive goal of LoZ Any% speedrunners has been to ultimately finish the game in less than 30 minutes, a goal many prominent runners have been steadily inching toward over the last year. Earlier this week, speedrunner LackAttack24 made history by achieving this goal and setting a new world record for the classic title, finishing the game in 29 minutes and 56 seconds…

We know that the front page has seen many speedrun posts in the last few weeks, but with the discovery of a new trickOcarina of Time speedrunners have been diligently refining the current Any% route. Well history has been made, as speedrunner Jodenstone has reached this goal and completed the game in 17 minutes and 55 seconds…

It appears the past week or so has been Speedrun heaven, as we’ve seen our 3rd record breaking Speedrun of a Zelda game, but this time for a game other than Ocarina of Time. It’s counterpart, Majora’s Mask, had a new record set just today. This was a new world record for an Any% run, which meant that yes, glitches are allowed. I know the use of glitches is a point of contention for many, but it’s also something a large contingency of fans enjoy. Just remember, this is one speedrun category, and there are others that don’t allow…

A few days ago, speedrunner Jodenstone continued his Ocarina of Time supremacy by setting a new Any% record of 18 minutes and 5 seconds using a newly-discovered glitch. Today, speedrunner skater82297 (known for discovering many glitches used in the current Any% route) set a new record by shaving 2 seconds off Jodenstone’s time. Even after setting his impressive time of 18 minutes and 3 seconds, skater82297 still has his sights on a time under 18 minutes and is currently streaming his attempts on his Twitch channel

Recently, speedrunner Jodenstone had topped his recent Ocarina of Time record by about 2 seconds, making the world record 18 minutes and 5 seconds. Today, speedrunner Skater82297 -who has been known to discover various glitches in Ocarina of Time- has topped the world record with a record time of 18:03 (18 minutes and 3 seconds) for an Any% Speedrun. In fact, he’s going for another almost immediately after hitting the world record. If you’re quick enough, you may be able…

Back on January 1 we reported that Jodenstone had attempted the seemingly impossible task of beating former Ocarina of Time speed run champ Cosmo Wright’s world record any % run time of 18:10. Jodenstone amazed us all as his hard work paid off, earning him a final time of 18:07 and the world record title. Now Jodenstone has done it again, this time using the new glitch that was discovered back in February. Jodenstone was able to shave two seconds…
