Lucina, Robin, and Chrom, the newest members to Super Smash Bros., came with many surprises—one of which happened to be that Chrom is a character that cannot be played. This factor has disappointed many fans (including myself) and has left many wondering the reason for such a decision. To make matters worse, it also seems like Lucina is just a Marth clone. In addition to two brand new screenshots for Super Smash Bros. today, we have some new information on how Robin’s attacks work—specifically with the Levin Sword and the Magic Tomes. Just like in Fire Emblem, both have limited uses, but how can you use them? Find out inside.

Along with the excitement circulating the Smash Bros. community since yesterday’s reveal, there has been some confusion regarding just how much of a “newcomer” Lucina is. Many have noticed she appears to play very similarly to Marth and some even proposed she’s just an alternate skin. In today’s Miiverse Pic of the Day, Masahiro Sakurai has given us some insight. Zelda Informer is happy to announce that we are now going to be covering all Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U news up until the release. Trust me, we are as excited to bring this news to you as you hopefully are reading it. That being said, let’s kick things off with a special announcement from the official website. In what might be the most unusual costume for

Smash Bros., Link is going back to his roots by donning a makeshift version of his normal clothes from his days in Skyloft. If it looks a little odd it’s because it’s not a new character model, but rather a retextured model that looks like something you’d only see come from a texture

“Here’s Link in an outfit based on his ordinary clothes in Skyward Sword! The art style looks a little different, but the actual clothing model is still his usual tunic.”

— Sakurai

It’s great to see a costume that features Link’s normal clothing. The only unusual bit about this is that this is the Link from

Twilight Princess wearing Skyward Sword Link’s clothing! We need to go deeper.

Is anyone else as excited for Super Smash Bros. as I am? Personally, I still get excited when their website is updated. One great thing about this new game is its ability to satiate Zelda fans. The franchise’s heavy stake in Nintendo makes it one of the central aspects and central fanbases Super Smash Bros. relies on. In a recent Miiverse post, director Masahiro Sakurai revealed Octoroks would be joining some of the enemies in the new Smash Run mode….

The Zelda series continues to get a lot of love in the upcoming Smash Bros. games, as now Octoroks from Skyward Sword are now present, presumably in the one mode featuring various enemies in a gauntlet style gameplay matchup on the 3DS. We have another Super Smash Bros. 4 screenshot this week from Masahiro Sakurai, and this time, he has revealed that Ganondorf’s loyal minions, Koume and Kotake, will be making a cameo in the 3DS-exclusive Gerudo Valley stage. It is unclear whether they will have any real effect on the battlefield, but it does raise speculation as to whether more secondary characters will show up in other stages.
