“Majora’s Mask” is a tale of loneliness, betrayal, love, mortality, and unholy power– and that’s why we love it. Unlike any other Zelda game, “Majora’s Mask” is able to reach into the darkest depths of a gamer’s subconscious and drudge up all of the forgotten underlying reasons the gamer had begun playing video games in the first place. Majora attacked our weaknesses, and we were glad for it. Alexis S. AndersonAlexis S. Anderson is a Senior Editor at Zelda Dungeon…

M. Bulteau has recently released Demo #8 for his Majora’s Mask opera. This demo in particular has Majora singing lyrics that perfectly match with its theme song as well as its fighting theme for Majora’s Incarnation. Skull Kid makes an appearance during the video as well and is shown to be under the mask’s spell while Majora is taunting him by wishing to ‘play a game’ with him. All in all, the video itself is pretty creepy and perfectly shows…

Musician M. Bulteau has recently released a Q&A video on YouTube answering questions surrounding his current project, Majora. Majora will be an opera based on the events of Majora’s Mask, with a few major changes. A major change that is revealed in the Q&A is the exclusion of Link and focuses on Kafei. Think this change is outrageous? Hit the jump to see the Q&A and see the reason why the change is made!

Hey guys! Zelda Artist Exposition is back! On the off chance you noticed an absence of these editorials the past few weeks, I apologize. Briefly falling ill, combined with a vacation, created some unfortunate circumstances every time I tried to write. However, things should be back to normal. Anyway, that is not important, but the art is! If you do not know about this series, although you can probably guess what it is all about, it is a series I…

Hello readers! Brian here with the seventeenth edition of “The Best and Worst of Zelda.” Today’s topic comes from a user called Sean Gadus, so much thanks to him! If you want your idea discussed in a future editorial, remember to comment your ideas below! While masks aren’t a series-wide theme, the sheer amount of them in Majora’s Mask make them a topic worthy of discussion. Masks act alongside items as tools for exploration and puzzle solving. Today we’ll be…

I know, I said the rest of these editorials were going to be compilations, and this one sort of is. It will focus on the origins of the Four Giants, the guardian deities of Termina, but I will also briefly explore the bosses of Majora’s Mask, due to their apparent connections with the Four Giants. Hit the jump to read more!

As we all know, the Legend of Zelda fan community is passionate and quite vocal about the opinions that are shared and/or disputed amongst its members about one of Nintendo’s most famous franchises.  One such example of this enthusiasm can be seen in the incredible amount of support that Operation Moonfall has gathered.  For those of you who do not know, following the release of Ocarina of Time 3D on the Nintendo 3DS, an objective dubbed “Operation Moonfall” was created…

It has been more than a year since the first demo of Majora, an opera based on the classic Majora’s Mask, was uploaded onto YouTube. Since then, the project has become quite popular and has received much positive feedback. The project is headed by Miguel Bulteau, an up-and-coming composer who has a particular fondness for video game music. Not too long ago (and by total chance), I got into contact with Miguel, and we talked extensively about the process and…

The namesake of Majora’s Mask is an artifact that is widely revered in the artistic community. Its rich colors and its eerie, intriguing design make it the perfect centerpiece for fan art. The artistic value of the mask is clearly defined by its intense appearance. It sits as a fantastic icon for one of the most dark and original games in the Zelda series, which any Zelda veteran can recognize. However, while the mask is popular among artists as a…
