Empty bottles are invaluable in the Legend of Zelda series, and you can store a wide variety of items in them. From simple water to a princess, there seems no limit to what Link may keep in his bottles. Boss battles and traversing dungeons would be much more stressful if bottles didn’t allow Link to store a fairy as a safety net, and some of the soup from across the series is mm-mmm-good! This week, we asked Zelda Dungeon staff members to…

If you love the Legend of Zelda series, then you know who Tingle is. The middle-aged man whose vehicle of choice is a balloon attached to his back. Tingle first appeared in Majora’s Mask on the N64 and appeared in quite a few Zelda games proceeding that; specifically Oracle of Ages, The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, The Minish Cap, and he is part of the Majora’s Mask DLC of Hyrule Warriors. Tingle also makes minor appearances in Phantom Hourglass…

Navi has always been a very cute fairy, but has anyone wondered whether Navi could also be delicious? Blogger Geek Girl Fi recently saw Navi’s dessert potential and created Navi cake pops. She explains the steps she took to make the cake pops and Navi’s design, as well as shows progress pictures in her DIY video. Whether you’re into baking, making artistic things with frosting, or just really want a chance to bite Navi’s nagging head off, these Navi cake…

Welcome all to Zelda Artist Expositions—my series of features where I showcase an artist I have found that I think is amazing or deserves more credit. As always comments are welcomed and appreciated, and if you have an artist you think should be featured, let me know and I will add him or her to my list. And of course, please be supportive. Today we have a very unique artist. Our feature is theonlybriman47, suggested by staff member Jessica.

Up this week we have a comic from a place that we haven’t seen in a while, and this time it’s a bit of a crossover between Zelda and Mario. You might be able to guess the Mario game involved, but do you know where the comic comes from? If you think you do, hit the jump to read!

Is Navi really a pest?

September 21 2013 by Parker

“Hey, Listen!” Who could have predicted in 1998 that these two innocent words, articulated by a winged ball of light, would become the bane of countless Zelda fans? Yet besides Kaepora Gaebora’s notoriously long-winded speeches, the infamous catchphrase of Link’s fairy companion Navi is probably the most common points of criticism leveled at Ocarina of Time. Detractors claim her often-repeated exclamations are unbearable; her personality obnoxious. Not even Tingle is demonized to such an extent. When faced with such vocal and ingrained…

Here are the final two analyses which I initially planned to have in one single editorial. Now, you’ll be able to see why all five analyses in a single editorial would’ve been too long. The second instalment in this series of analyses looks at ??? and Tingle. At the end of this editorial, I will confirm the line-up for next week’s editorial, as suggested by you: the readers. And you’ll have that to look forward to next week, but for…

Who is Tatl?

July 07 2013 by Cameron Smith

To those who have not played Majora’s Mask, but know a decent bit about it, Tatl would appear to simply be a yellow Navi; but those people would be wrong. While Tatl does take Navi’s place as Link’s sidekick, Navi was just there, serving no real purpose and wasn’t much of a character; however, Tatl, while also serving no real purpose, is very much her own character. Now, a lot of people last week commented that I was more retelling…

Welcome to another edition of the Zelda Fanart Spotlight. This week we are looking at a digital painting called The Legend of Zelda:: Back from the Journey by artist Kissai. In this piece, an older Link is sitting comfortably with his owl friend, relaxing after what was certain to be a difficult journey. Cluttering the floor around him is a bunch of different items from every game in the series. How many different items can you spot? This one you’ll…

Fairies in Zelda games are always a bonus, and ever since being able capture them for later use in A Link to the Past, fairies have proven to be a valuable resource in desperate times. However, catching things that move in sporadic patterns right before a difficult boss isn’t always the easiest task. Especially when you’re just waving around a glass bottle, like in Ocarina of Time. And sometimes you give the fairy just a touch. Hit the jump to read the comic!
