Another new discussion video, this time about Zelda Wii U! I’m sure most of you are familiar with the recent news on the subject, about Nintendo wanting to “rethink the conventions of Zelda” and their two examples of what they want to change. This video covers my thoughts and reactions to their sentiments, as well as my hopes and concerns for Zelda Wii U. Enjoy! You can watch the video here or check out the embed after the jump. Here’s…

Hey guys, new discussion video! This video’s about The Wind Waker HD, and how I feel it measures up to the original game’s visual design. Obviously the graphics are a big deal with the remake, but I had some thoughts on it that I wanted to share. You can watch the video here or check out the embed after the jump. The Wind Waker might be my least-favorite Zelda game, but it’s still a very impressive experience. I always felt…

Hey there guys! Another monster-themed video discussion for October. This one’s about the bosses though, and is my take on the topic of… what the bosses are supposed to be. I’ve brought it up on the mailbag in the past and Din and Rish talked about it in an episode of Z-Talk a while back, but this is my in-depth take on it, from a bit of a different perspective. You can watch it here or view the embed after…

Hey there guys! New video discussion. I want to talk about an observation I recently made regarding the series, which is that I think it’s rather flawed. This isn’t a hate video though; I think Zelda is a great series, and that’s the point of this video. The series is flawed, but great anyway, and I want to discuss that. Enjoy! You can watch the video here or check out the embed after the jump. It relates to a topic…

Alright, so following up on E3 earlier this week, this video is about The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest, the minigame of sorts that comes along with Nintendo Land, a collection of similar minigames. We know Battle Quest is going to be a multiplayer game where you play between 1-3 adventurers and fight through levels in what looks to be linear stages. This video has me going over my thoughts on Battle Quest in general. You can watch the video…

Guns in Zelda

March 17 2012 by Axle D. Wilder

Alright, first video discussion in a while, and the topic this time is kind of a doozy. In this video I talk about firearms (guns) in the Zelda series. This is a topic that’s been debated about for a while now and is very controversial; a lot of people have a huge aversion to the idea. Other people don’t mind it. Seems like a worthwhile topic for a video, am I right? You can watch the video here or view…

Among the assortment of unique additions to the world of Zelda as we know it in Skyward Sword was the brand new shield meter. This meter determined how much oomph your shield exactly had left in it, making it necessary to either upgrade or repair every once in a while. Many fans took this to their disliking, not appreciating the fact that their shield may break in the middle of a dungeon simply because they were keeping their guard up….

When a new Zelda game was announced for the Nintendo Wii, fans were swept off their feet all around. When it was mentioned that Wii Motion+ would come into play, many people were anticipating the 1-on-1 swordplay and new mechanics that would be introduced into the game from this huge change. To date, many people have said that Skyward Sword has surpassed the long-lived Ocarina of Time on the scale of excellence, but there are also people who say differently….

For those who have not beaten the game and do not wish to see spoilers to upcoming dungeons, you may want to be cautious in your reading of this topic. Skyward Sword introduced many new ideas and techniques, with many new things made possible with the addition of the new items and motion controls. Some of these dungeons utilized these to their utmost potential, so which one do you think did it the best? All the way from Skyview to…

The newest form of transportation presented to us in Skyward Sword deviated from the methodical engagement of travel presented to us in previous games – typically in the form of a horse. This is in league with the way Spirit Tracks threw at us a completely different form of transportation, but taken to a completely new and exciting level. The prospect of exploring the sky aback a giant bird was original and exciting to fans everywhere. In the end, we…
