Over the past six years the Zeldathon Team has sponsored a marathon several times a year to raise money for various charities and to date the team has raised over $625k! On December 27th, the 15th biannual Zeldathon will be broadcast live via Twitch starting at 4pm ET, with the goal of raising a total of 150,000. The Zeldathon Team is proud to announce that this years charity will be HelpHOPELive, a group that helps to support community based fundraising…

Organized by Matthew Moffit, otherwise known as SuperMCGamer, these Zeldathons have proven quite successful at raising money for charity, and this one is looking to be their most daring yet.

AGDQ Begins Today!

AGDQ, or Awesome Games Done Quick, is the Spring event of the Games Done Quick series where high level speed runners for games of all kinds, including the Zelda series, come together to help raise money for charity by live streaming their runs nonstop for a week. January 4th is finally here, meaning the ultra fast gaming has begun! Make the jump to see when they will be running Zelda games!

The Legend of Zelda fans and gamers in general have always been very active and engaged in raising money for charitable organisations. Some platforms include live speedrunning, general livestreams and real life events, but livestreaming is the most popular and accessible to anyone. One organisation that’s very active in raising money for different charities through livestreams and donations is Fun for Freedom, which is currently hosting their latest event: Zeldathon Relief.

As many of you may know, Zeldathon team held their 11th annual week long marathon playing through every game from the Legend of Zelda series, including the infamous CD-i Wand of Gamelon and Faces of Evil, and Zelda’s Adventure. This time around, Zeldathon surpassed their significant goal of $100k with a grand total of $101,621 in donations for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Just yesterday, a group of dedicated Zelda fans sat down for a marathon gaming session for the greater good.
